UK Fibre Overbuild & Conversion Index · 2026

£5 billion of fibre, built and unsold.

Across Britain, networks have laid full fibre past millions of homes that haven't taken it. Here's where the coverage, the conversion gaps and the operators sit — mapped from regulator data across 41.6 million premises. Built for network operators and investors.

* Unconverted full-fibre premises × ~£30/mo ARPU — the theoretical conversion ceiling across all networks, not a forecast.

Scope, stated plainly

This is local-authority / postcode-area intelligence. Ofcom coverage is the all-operator aggregate — it shows where the market is strong or thin, not an individual operator's footprint or per-street detail. BDUK names a supplier only where build is publicly funded. Overbuild/subsidy/new-build/planned = England & Wales; deprivation = England. Operator financials are name-matched to Companies House (matched entity on hover). Coverage figures are modelled, not measured connections.
